28 pounds of meth seized, Mexicali woman arrested

CALEXICO, CA- U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers seize 28 pounds of methamphetamine hidden inside a vehicle.

It happened Tuesday afternoon at the Calexico downtown Port of Entry.

CBP says a canine team alerted suspicion to the gas tank of a 1997 Ford Explorer being driven by a 27 year old female.

Through further inspection officers found 20 wrapped packages of meth inside.

The meth has a street value of nearly $420,000.

The Mexicali resident was booked in to the Imperial County Jail.

CBP seized the vehicle and meth.
