CALEXICO, CA- El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents conducting surveillance near downtown Calexico observed several suspicious packages being thrown over the U.S.-Mexico border fence.
Agents kept watching and saw two men, a 17 and 18 year-old , gather the packages and hide them in the laundry room of a nearby apartment complex.
Border Patrol agents responding to the incident subsequently discovered multiple packages of suspected narcotics inside.
The two individuals were found hiding in a nearby apartment building and placed under arrest.
Both individuals are identified as U.S. citizens.
Three packages of marijuana weighing approximately five pounds were seized with an estimated street value of more than $4,000.
The case was turned over to the Calexico Police Department and the marijuana was seized by the Imperial Valley Narcotics Task Force.
