YUMA, AZ- AEA Federal Credit Union takes over another property formerly owned by Frank Ruiz.
The Yuma downtown building next door to the Top of the Kress was purchased by Ruiz through fraudulent funds from the credit union.
We're told the old Karl's shoe store was going to be named the Long Bar and would have provided a rear entrance for the Kress.
It was purchased by AEA for the amount owed to them on the property in a trustee sale Tuesday.
The sale took place on the steps of the Yuma County Courthouse.
AEA can now sell the property since they are the legal owners of it.
The credit union also obtained The Kress through a trustee sale in March.
Ruiz was sentenced to 2 years in prison for de-frauding AEA. His co-conspirators Bill and Rhonda Liddle are set to be sentenced for their part on May 21.
