AC overheats in Yuma school, students evacuated

Posted:

YUMA, AZ - With temperatures heating up, a local school got a scare today after an incident with an air conditioner.

Yuma Fire Department says some students at Pueblo Elementary School had to be evacuated this morning after an AC overheated releasing a smell of burned wires.

Apparently the smell affected some kids who were treated on the scene but no one was taken to the hospital.

The students were allowed back into the classroom shortly after it was secured.

YFD says this time of year incidents like this happen frequently.
