CALEXICO, CA- U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers arrest a man after they discovered 38 pounds of cocaine hidden in the vehicle he was driving.
It happened Thursday night at the Calexico East Port of Entry.
Officers say a canine team alerted them to a blue 2002 Jeep Liberty. Through further inspection officers discovered 15 wrapped packages of cocaine concealed inside the gas tank.
The estimated street value of the narcotic is more than $450,000.
The driver, a 29 year-old male who is a U.S. citizen and resident of Mexicali, was booked into Imperial County Jail.
