Shooting of San Luis Rio Colorado's police chief caught on tape.

San Luis Rio Colorado--The murder of the public safety director in San Luis Rio Colorado is caught on tape.

Mexican municipal police tells News 13 they do have surveillance video of the attack against Commander Luis Rodriguez Soqui.

The security video belonged to the private neighborhood where the commander lived

Mexican police said around 9 p.m. Saturday in the area of Hidalgo Avenue and 27th Street, three men approached the commander and shot him multiple times killing him instantly.

Police have not released the video to the public but they say in the video the suspects were driving a 1992 White Dodge Durango with Sonora license plates.

They said Soqui was shot in the face and body over 17 times with an AK-47.

Commander Soqui served as the Director of Public Safety for San Luis Rio Colorado for over a year.

Before taking his position he worked as a federal prosecutor in Sonora.

Police said no arrests have been made yet and the case remains under investigation.

No word on the motive behind the killing.
