EL CENTRO, CA - Two Imperial Irrigation Programs that provide help to low-income customers have been updated.
IID officials say that under the Residential Energy Assistance Program the discount for income-qualified customers is now 20 percent starting in June, which will help them pay for their electric bill.
The Emergency Energy Assistance Program will provide more help to customers who cannot afford to pay their bills on time and face being disconnected.
Under the same program, customers who qualify for emergency assistance can receive a $125 credit to help pay for their electric bill four times a year.
IID programs also provide senior citizen discounts.
