El Centro Police make drug bust during traffic stop

EL CENTRO, CA - An El Centro Police Officer's sharp memory spots a driver he remembers that doesn't have a valid drivers license.

But when he pulls him over, police say he found heroin and meth.

The officer on patrol recognized 31-year-old Joel Espinoza driving a Honda Civic near 4th Street and Commercial Avenue on Sunday.

Police say they found 6 grams of meth and 2 grams of heroin in Espinoza's pant pockets.

They searched the car and found another 14 grams of heroin and 10 grams of suspected opium.

Police say Espinoza's passenger; 33 year old Eloisa Hernandez had an outstanding arrest warrant. 

They searched her and report finding an additional 2.7 grams of methamphetamine concealed in her clothing.

Espinoza, an El Centro resident and Hernandez, of Holtville were arrested and booked into the Imperial County Jail.
