Yuma, AZ--A woman accused of being an accomplice to a baseball bat murder and the man accused of shooting a victim in an alley forcing school lock downs appeared in Yuma County Superior Court Tuesday afternoon.
Elsie Valenzuela is charged with one felony count for conspiracy to sell narcotics and one felony count for a transfer of narcotic drugs for sale.
She pleaded not guilty to those charges in Yuma County Superior Court before Judge Maria Elena Cruz.
Prosecutors said Valenzuela is one of the of several people arrested in connection to the murder of 33-year old Kendall Smith who was beaten with a baseball bat.
They said she is connected to the drug activity that ultimately killed the victim, who was at the wrong place at the wrong time.
Valenzuela remains in custody on a one million cash only bond.

Also in the same courtroom in a separate case was shooting suspect Carlos Arellano.
Arellano is accused of shooting another man in a trailer park near schools.
He faces one felony count of attempted murder in the second degree, one felony count of aggravated assault resulting in serious injury, one felony count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one felony count of criminal trespassing in the first degree.
Arellano remains in custody still on a $500,000 cash bond.
