Posted: Updated:

Yuma, AZ--The former owner of Arizona Market Place accused of fraud and theft appeared in court today.

Daniel Dinwiddie's appearance in Yuma Justice Court was very short this afternoon.

51-year old Daniel Dinwiddie appeared before Judge Yolanda Torok.

He is being charged with one felony count of fraudulent schemes and one felony count for theft.

Yuma Police Department said they began investigating his business practices at the Arizona Market Place in April of this year.

Police said Dinwiddie was accepting rent or deposits from vendors at the market place for the next season even though he already closed the business.

KSWT spoke with at least 10 ex-vendors in the case. They all had similar stories about Dinwiddie's negotiations with them saying he has threatened them many times before.

The judge caution him today not to speak to alleged victims

YPD said Dinwiddie managed to rack up an estimated $90,000 dollars through his alleged victims.

Prosecutors and Dinwiddie's attorney agreed to lower his bond from$200,00 to $50,000.

Dinwiddie remains in custody and is expected to back in court in two weeks.
