New YPG Command Sergeant starts tenure

YUMA, AZ - He is known as the leader and advocate for soldiers and families at the Yuma Proving Ground.

Today there is a new command sergeant starting his 3 year tenure at the base.

Sergeant Major Forbes Daniels transfers responsibility to his successor, Command Sergeant Major Keith West, at a traditional ceremony at the Yuma Proving Ground this morning.

The new command sergeant says he is glad to be here and be part of the base and community.

"It is just a great area, beautiful, quiet. I look forward to getting involved at the base and be an active member of the local community," said Sgt Maj. Keith West.

Command Sergeant Major West has numerous awards and decorations including the soldier's medal and the bronze star.

He is married and has two children.
