YUMA, AZ - Temperatures are really heating up in the Desert Southwest and local first response agencies cannot stress enough how important it is to take precautions.
Yuma Fire Department says that within the last week they have responded to several cases related to heat illnesses.
They say it is summer time in Yuma and we all need to be aware.
YFD says even people native to Yuma don't adjust to constant 100 degree weather.
They advice to take simple precautions like drinking plenty of fluids and avoid heavily sugared drinks.
They say if you're feeling thirsty, you're already behind in staying hydrated.
