CALEXICO, CA - Jefferson Elementary students and staff in Calexico are excited to see their new school rebuilt, after it was damaged in an earthquake two years ago.

Students and school officials gathered at the school to take part in a reopening ceremony.

Those who attended got to tour the campus and see the newly repaired classrooms. New counter tops, sinks and ceilings were all repaired and were ready for use.

School officials say this is such an important and exciting time for everyone.

Students and faculty also say they are happy their students will now have a campus ready to use after they were sent to other nearby schools while repairs were being made at Jefferson Elementary.
