YUMA, AZ - Yuma Police say they have arrested six people in two separate incidents for human smuggling and they have reason to believe they are both connected.
The six people arrested are Rolando Charles, Iris Hernandez, Enrique Saucedo, Fran Saucedo, Joel Torres and his 16-year-old son Joel Torres Jr.
Yuma police says last week, they were all caught trying to smuggling illegal immigrants.
All, but the teenage boy, appeared at Yuma Justice Court today.
Joel Torres is facing tree counts of human smuggling, one count of use of a wire communication for drug transaction and one count for financing or managing a criminal syndicate. He is being held in custody on $75,000 bond.
Rolando Charles is facing three counts of human smuggling and one count for financing or managing a criminal syndicate. He is in custody on $75,000 bond.
Iris Hernandez is facing three counts of human smuggling and one count for financing or managing a criminal syndicate. She is being held on no bond.
Enrique Saucedo is facing four counts of human smuggling, one count of financing or managing a criminal syndicate, and one count of use of a wire communication for drug transaction. He is in custody on $30,000 bond.
Fran Saucedo is facing four counts of human smuggling and one count of financing or managing a criminal syndicate. His bond is set at $20,000.
Joel Torres, Jr., 16, is being held at Yuma County Juvenile Detention Center.
