Gerardo Montes
EL CENTRO, CA.- A trial date is expected to be set soon for a suspect accused of murdering a Yuma man nearly two years ago.
Gerardo Montes was in Imperial County Jail Court Tuesday morning.
A judge ordered a readiness conference to set a trial date and jury selection in the murder of Adrian Chee.
Chee was found shot to death in a brush area in Winterhaven near San Pasqual School back in August of 2010.
The Imperial County Sheriff's Office arrested Montes at a Yuma home a month later.
He has been behind bars ever since on $1 million bond.
Montes will be back in court July 2.
