YUMA, AZ.- United Blood Service Officials say 24 Arizona hospitals are urging people to roll up their sleeves in support of patients around the Independence Day holiday.
Yuma Regional Medical Center is one of nearly 2 dozen hospitals seeking blood donors.
They're holding a blood drive at the YRMC Corporate Center located on 32nd Street on July 12.
They say donor vacations typically reduce the number of people giving blood this time of year, heavy traffic on the highways increases the potential for accidents and the need for blood.
In appreciation for saving lives, all donors will be automatically entered into a raffle to win a 2012 Beetle, donated by Valley Volkswagen dealers.
