The Yuma Police Department along with the Internal Revenue Service is currently investigating Diamond Brooks Water in Yuma for theft of 74,000,000 gallons of water.
According to a press release issued by the City of Yuma, Diamond Brooks Water is accused of unlawfully tapping into a City of Yuma water line and then selling the water back to the public. According to the City of Yuma the value of the 74 million gallons of water is around $168,000.
Federal agents served search warrants for Diamond Brooks Water, located at 3025 South Avenue 4E, and to the owner's home, Philip Clark. According to officials, Philip Clark, 48 was not taken into custody as the case remains under investigation.
The Yuma Police Department says they received a report 18 months ago of a continuous theft of city services by a Yuma business. This report lead to an investigation which found that Diamond Brooks Water had allegedly stolen water form a City of Yuma water line.
