Fire Linked to Broken A/C Clears out Yuma Big 5 Sporting Goods

YUMA, AZ - The Yuma Fire Department responded to the scene of smoke coming out of a local business this morning.

Fire officials say that about 7am they found smoke inside the Big 5 Sporting Good store located on the 500 block of West Catalina Drive.

They also found smoke coming from the rear and the roof area of the building.

They shut down the power as a precaution and used ventilation fans to clear the smoke.

Fire fighters were able to trace back the smoke to an air conditioning compressor that had failed.

The damage was limited to the compressor.
