Yuma, AZ - Friday night there will be a memorial service and procession in honor of Anthony Ramon Polk, a firefighter for the Quechan Tribe. He died while in route to a fire last weekend near Sells, AZ when his fire truck rolled over in steep terrain. The City of Yuma is advising there will could be some disruption to traffic Friday starting apx. 5:45  between the 16th Street/4th Avenue intersection and 4th Avenue north to 1st Street.

Motorists will not be able to cross 4th Avenue between 1st and 16th streets during the procession, most notably at 8th Street, 3rd Street/Giss Parkway, and at 1st Street, unless directed by officers who will provide on-site traffic control for the procession.

The procession route includes 1st Street heading eastbound from 4th Avenue, with all vehicles except fire engines crossing the Ocean-to-Ocean Bridge. People wishing to view the procession and honor Polk may want to watch the fire trucks cross over the Ocean-to-Ocean Bridge from the downtown area or stand safely off the roadway anywhere along the route.
