Yuma barricaded suspect to be extradited to Imperial County

Posted:

YUMA, AZ - The suspect that sent police on a stand-off in Yuma back in April will be extradited to Imperial County.

Michael Kinale appeared at Yuma County Superior Court today where a judge reviewed an extradition notice.

The 22-year-old was facing 9 charges in Yuma County after he barricaded himself in a home for hours.

His charges included resisting arrest, criminal damage and theft. But those charges have been dismissed.

The only charge Kinale has pending in Yuma County is a criminal extradition.

The Imperial County Sheriff's Office says Kinale failed to appear in court in Imperial Valley back in March, a month before his arrest in Yuma.

That incident was in connection to a pending felony charge for assault with a deadly weapon.

Court officials did not give us an extradition date but he remains in custody on no bond.
