Imperial Irrigation District officials encourage you to step into energy zone

Imperial Valley CA - Imperial Irrigation District officials are encouraging you to take it easy this summer on energy use and step into the energy zone.

Officials are asking you to turn off all unnecessary lights, computers and appliances.

They say that by not suing major appliances until after 7 p.m. and setting your air conditioning thermostat to 78 degrees or higher when home, you can save money, stay cool and help maintain electrical reliability.

Throughout the summer, IID will post alerts on their face book and twitter page the day before an extreme heat day.
