YUMA, AZ - The Yuma County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that the teen that nearly drowned last week in the Colorado River near the Ocean to Ocean Bridge has died.
Sheriff's Office officials say Junior de Jesus Salamanca died Monday evening in a Phoenix hospital after he was flown out following last Wednesday's incident.
Paramedics on scene performed CPR but Salamanca was he unresponsive.
The 17-year-old was pulled out of the river by a bystander after he saved his two younger siblings from the strong currents.
