Wellton police investigating illegal wildlife killing

WELLTON, AZ - Wellton Police say they served a search warrant today at a home in connection to an ongoing investigation for illegally killing wildlife in the Tacna area earlier this month.

They say the investigation also revealed a possible dog fighting ring.

They were able to recover one dog.

The resident of the home was detained for a short time but was not arrested.

Wellton Police say they will suggest charges to be filed with the Yuma County Attorney's Office.
