Vehicle collision in El Centro sends one man to the hospital

Yuma--A two vehicle collision sends one man to the hospital Friday morning.

California Highway Patrol say 41-year old Moises Rivera was driving a Nissan Maxima southbound on Brandt Road at approximately 55 miles per hour.

They say 56 year old Andrew Morgan was driving a Chevy Silverado which was pulling an agricultural fertilizer tank trailer southbound on Brandt Road ahead of the Nissan, at approximately 25 miles per hour.

CHP says the Nissan struck the rear of the fertilizer tank trailer.

As a result of the collision, Rivera sustained a major head injury.

Rivera was then transported by Reach Helicopter ambulance to Desert Regional Medical Center.

The collision is still under investigation.
