CALEXICO - More than 300 pounds of marijuana are off the streets of Calexico, after drug-sniffing dogs alerted agents to a parked car.
Several large, plastic-wrapped bundles of pot were found Thursday morning by an El Centro Sector Border Patrol Canine Team in a parking lot at 201 West 2nd Street near the border. The street value is estimated at more than $245,000. The car had Baja plates with no known owner.
Border Patrol agents turned the car and the marijuana over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.
