YUMA, AZ -The City worker injured after a 16 foot cactus fell on him remains at Yuma Regional Medical Center. KSWT News 13 spoke to the injured mans spouse Felisha Mason.

''Well we are not out of the clear one hundred percent just yet, we are just very blessed right now that he is still alive, we did get a bit of bad news, but I won't be ready to talk to anyone until he is feeling better at a later point.''  Says, Felisha.

Last week firefighters and ambulance responded to a call of a man pinned under a cactus tree, they later transported him to Yuma Regional Medical Center where he underwent surgery for a broken back, legs and an arm injury.

40 year old William Mason, who works for the city of Yuma in the utilities department, was on the job repairing a water leak at the Del Oro Estates in the 21- hundred block of Cottontail Avenue when a sixteen- foot cactus fell on him. The cactus has since been removed.

The mason family remains by his side as he recovers, and they say they will like their privacy respected at this time until he makes a full recovery.
