Calexico Border Patrol Seize 130 Pounds of Marijuana - | News for Yuma, Imperial Valley, El Centro, AZ & CA

Calexico, CA – Border patrol agents seize more than 130 pounds of marijuana that was dropped by an ultra light aircraft. The incident took place Saturday just after 11 P.M.

Agents assigned to the Calexico station were operating a mobile surveillance system and detected the aircraft traveling north into the U.S. from Mexico.

The aircraft was then seen heading back into Mexico. Agents then conducted a ground search and discovered six wrapped bundles in the backyard of a Calexico residence.

The drugs were valued at 106-thousand dollars. U.S. Border patrol is investigating the incident with partners in an effort to locate the escaped ultra light aircraft.
