Law permits some fireworks but some are still illegal in AZ

YUMA, AZ - The Yuma Police Department wants everyone to have a fun and festive 4th of July but they are warning the public of the harms of fireworks.

YPD says that although the law allows the use of some novelty and minor types of fireworks many of them still remain illegal in the state of Arizona.

They say especially the ones that rise into the air and explode.

Here are some of the fireworks permitted in Arizona:

 

  • Ground and handheld sparkling devices
  • Cylindrical fountains
  • Cone fountains
  • Illuminating torches
  • Wheels
  • Ground spinner
  • Flitter sparklers
  • Toy smoke devices
  • Wire sparklers or dipped sticks
  • Multiple tube fireworks devices and pyrotechnic articles
