EL CENTRO, CA - El Centro City Hall was forced to close its doors to the public this afternoon.
A main component in the air conditioning unit malfunctioned just before noon, leaving all three city hall buildings without air conditioning.
The air conditioning unit puts out 75 tons of power to city hall, although maintenance did not pinpoint that as the problem.
Some city employees were given the rest of the day off while some continued to work out of the community center.
The defective part will be delivered from Los Angeles and if all goes as planned, city hall will be back up and open for business tomorrow.
