YUMA, AZ- Police are hoping you might recognize this front license plate with an American flag and bald eagle. They say it fell off a truck that fled the scene of a fatal hit and run.
On Tuesday, July 03, at 4:21 a.m. the Yuma Police Department responded to a man down in the 3800 block West 24th Street.
The victim, identified as 19 year old Christopher Humbert, was located in the roadway and pronounced dead at the scene. Police say the initial investigation revealed the subject was struck by an unknown vehicle between approximately 4:00 am and 4:21 a.m.
Evidence at the scene indicates the vehicle involved may be a 2002 or newer full sized Dodge pickup. The vehicle may be grey or a light color. The vehicle had a front license plate of an American flag and Bald Eagle, which was found at the scene. This is a photograph of the actual license plate.
The vehicle may have damage in the center of the front bumper, grill and hood. The investigation continues.
