Suspicious hay trailer fire shuts down Yuma street

Yuma city crews scoop up burned hay and debris from fire

YUMA, AZ - Yuma police want to know who set a trailer full of bailed hay ( sudan grass) on fire just after 2:00 in the morning. Officers responded to the 100 block of west 13^th St. to assist the Yuma fire Department with a tractor trailer fire. The load of bailed Sudan grass was on fire when Officers arrived. The load and tractor trailer was destroyed. The fire was determined to be suspicious in nature and the incident is currently under investigation.

South 1^st Ave. and West 13^th St. was shut down until about mid morning during this incident.

The Yuma Police Department encourages anyone with any information about this case to please call the Yuma Police (928) 373-4700 or 78-Crime to remain anonymous.
