Machete wielding man attacks chip rack in convenience store

Yuma, AZ - Yuma Police respond to the Barney's gas station after reports that a man entered the gas station armed with a machete and used it in a threatening manner. A store clerk, who asked not be on camera, tells News 13 the suspect came in and yelled "Yo momma!" three times and then took a swing at the chip rack and left on foot.

He said the manager and another customer were in the store at the time.

Yuma police are still looking for the suspect. Police describe him to be of dark complexion, in his late 20s to early 30s, five foot seven and weighs about 160 pounds.

They said he was wearing dark colored clothing with a dark colored bandanna over his face.

No injuries were reported and business was back open early Wednesday evening  after police wrapped up their investigation.

YPD asks that anyone with information is encouraged to call the department or 78-crime.
