Preston Strong Trial Day 2- Ex girl friend testifies

Posted:

Yuma, AZ- Preston Strong's ex-girlfriend Adriana Guzman Ozuna was called as the prosecutions first witness Wednesday and her testimony continued today.

"I told her I thought Preston might have something to do with it," says Adriana Guzman, Preston Strong's Ex girl friend.

She said Strong gave her $9,500 in cash on November 2, 2007. The same day Dr. Gill was found dead by Yuma police.

Investigators say Dr. gill was murdered the day before and $24,000 in cash was missing from his home.

They say Dr. Gill requested for his bosses step-daughter Stephanie Baer to pick up a check at his home (November 1st) which was left under the doormat and cash it and then return the money to him.

Police say the money dropped off to Dr. Gill was in $50 denominations, but Ozuna testified she received the money that morning differently.

She says the cash he gave her was in all 100$ bills, and there was only a couple $50's in the stack.

Even though the money was distributed differently. The prosecution wants to know where strong got the thousands of dollars to pay Ozuna and other debts he owed.

They say he didn't have a steady job, but would occasionally give her some money. Ozuna testified she paid for the majority of strong's living expenses.

The defense claims that DR. Gill was never on Strong's radar and that strong always had some sort of income coming in.

The defense provided bank statements belonging to Ozuna that showed it was normal for Strong to give her money. The checks ranged from $1,000- $100 dollars.
