Yuma and Imperial County joblessness dips slightly


The Bureau of Labor Statistics has released the unemployment rates for the month of June.

California's unemployment rate fell slightly in June to 10.7 percent, as the state added more 38,300 -thousand jobs.

It marked a slight drop from May, when unemployment was at 10.8 percent.

In Imperial County the unemployment rate fell in June to 28.2 percent, but remains the highest in the nation.

No changes in joblessness in Arizona as it remained 8.2 for the third month straight.

In Yuma, joblessness is at 27.9 for June, that's about a one percent dip from May.

The U.S. unemployment rate remained at 8.2 percent in June.
