Yuma Civic Center Hosts 1st "Back-to-School Rodeo"

Posted:

YUMA, AZ - The first-ever "Back-to-School Rodeo" took place today at the Yuma Civic Center.

The day included music and dancing, face painting and balloon art … there were even cool refreshments to beat the summer heat.

"It's a great asset for parent because they can find out about a lot of programs they might not hear about. So if they're all here together in one spot, they can get info about the Art Center, Parks and Recreation, dance studios, Yuma School District One, all kinds of dentists here, haircutters, kids' clothing, all that sort of thing," touts Rex Ijams, the Arts and Culture Director for the City of Yuma.

Attendees could also learn about upcoming Yuma events like the Children's Festival of the Arts … the Historic Yuma Theatre's Concert Series … and the North End Art Walk.

The "Back-to-School Rodeo" is a day of fun, food and information … an event people hope will become a regular annual event at the Yuma Civic Center.
