Habitat for Humanity dedicates new Wellton homes

Posted:

Wellton, AZ - Today, two Yuma County families are living the American dream in their brand new homes.

They got the keys at 10am in the 10,000 block of Fresno Street in Wellton, AZ.

A new duplex was dedicated at a public ceremony this morning hosted by Habitat for Humanity.

Each side has 3 bedrooms, 2 baths and more than 1100 square feet of living space.

"I feel very happy that I am able to own a home because not very many single parents can afford a home. And I can say I can afford to, now moving into a brand new home," said Rosa Linda, new homeowner.

In lieu of a down payment, Linda helped work on the home and will do community service.

The town of Wellton donated the lot and $5,000.

Contributions also came from churches and area residents.
