Wake & viewing services held for prominent San Luis business manager

San Luis--Family and friends gathered at Cesar Chavez Cultural Center in San Luis for the wake and viewing services of a prominent local business manager.

Long lines formed of people wanting to pay their respects and say good bye to 51-year old Ramiro Marquez who say made an impact in the community.

He worked as the general manager for the local Food City store and was a long time resident of San Luis.

"He was a good hearted person," Martin Marquez, Ramiro's older brother said. "He was a person who cared for the community and wanted to make a difference. He loved is work and passionate about his work."

Marquez was found in his home dead in San Luis Rio Colorado on Saturday. Mexican authorities said his relatives went to look for him at his home after he didn't show up to work.

Authorities said his body was found on his bed and had a noticeable injury to his forehead.

Police said a preliminary investigation indicated it was a robbery but say there wasn't any signs of violence inside the home.

They said his car was stolen but police located it a few hours later.

State police said no arrests have been made at this time and the investigation is on going.

The funeral for Marquez will be held Wednesday at 10a.m. at the Cesar Chavez Cultural Center. The burial will follow after the Desert Lawn Memorial in Yuma.
