EL CENTRO - The El Centro Community Center hosted its Annual Summer Talent Show on Friday afternoon.
It was the 10th year in row that the center has hosted the event.
This year the theme was Tribute to The Stars. Kids from all three camp groups at the center put together a 2 hour show for a packed house the community center.
Performances from Elvis Presley, Selena, The Beatles, and even the king of pop adorned the stage.
Andres Sandoval pineda performed "Start me up" by The Rolling Stones. He says that the music he performed was a gift from his dad.
"I like The Beatles and the Rolling Stones", he says. "I like a lot of bands from the past because my father, Macario, he told me about The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and other musicians from the past that died and he has shown me a lot of books about them."
The crowd went crazy when the Elvis character hit the stage. Elvis and his fellow inmates performed the classic hit, "Jailhouse Rock" routine.
Selena was brought back to life with her music and her dance moves. Performers also wore clothes like the ones Selena wore throughout her career.
In between performances, show coordinator, Mayra Castro, thanked the crowd for coming as well as all the people responsible for the show to be able to go on.
Most of the performers admitted that they were nervous, but that the event was something they'll never forget.
"We get to practice and show the people", says performer, Adalis Alveiro. "It was all hectic and everyone was nervous, but then we got over it. It was really fun."
According to coordinators, the event will go on next summer but the them will remain a secret until then.
