Blood donors in Wellton & Yuma could win a $1,500 piece of jewelry

Yuma-Mark your calendars for a chance to win a $1,500 piece of jewelry made just for you!

Starting in September, people who donate blood in Wellton and Yuma will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win the custom made jewelry from Schmitt jewelers.

United Blood Services said it takes eight donors to fulfill Arizona's blood needs for just 15 minutes. When you donate blood, the life you save could be a friend, a family member or even yourself.

Type-O negative is always in greatest demand.

Here are some of the locations you can visit to donate blood:

Wellton

9/12/12, 2pm-6pm, Antelope Union High School, 9168 S Ave 36th E, cafeteria

Yuma

9/13/12, 1pm-5:30pm, Yuma Regional Medical Center, 2400 S Ave A, Hospital Conference Rooms 1, 2, 3

9/19/12, 8am-12:30pm, Yuma High School, 400 S 6th Ave, Old Gym

9/20/12, 8am-12:30pm, Kofa High School, 3100 Ave A, Ernest F. Rillos Gymnasium
