Suspect behind bars in Foothills shooting

YUMA, AZ- A suspect remains behind bars while Yuma County Sheriff deputies continue to investigate a shooting he is accused of being involved in.

26 year old Eduardo Mendez faces one count of attempted second degree murder and 7 counts of criminal trespass.

The Yuma County Sheriff's Office says they responded to a call around 9 p.m. Friday near Avenue 9E and East Kaye Drive.

Deputies say one person was injured.

Mendez went before a judge at the Yuma County Jail Court on Saturday. He remains in jail on $180,000 bond.

Mendez is due back in court Tuesday.
