Yuma attempted murder suspect charged, bail increased

YUMA, AZ- An attempted murder suspect has his bond increased to a half million dollars and remains behind bars.

26 year old Eduardo Mendez faces one count of attempted second degree murder, assault and aggravated assault.

The Yuma County Sheriff's Office says they responded to a call around 9 p.m. Friday near Avenue 9E and East Kaye Drive.

Deputies say one person was injured.

The judge said he was increasing the bail to $500,000 because Mendez is currently on parole and is considered a flight risk.

He's is due back in court August 14.
