YUMA, AZ – A man wanted for allegedly selling drugs near a local elementary school was arrested Friday and appeared in court Saturday afternoon.
45-year old Gary hand went before Judge George Hofer at the Yuma Jail Court. Hand is facing multiple felony charges including the possession of marijuana, possession of dangerous drugs, 2 counts of selling marijuana in a school zone and possession of drug paraphernalia. He will appear in court again next week.
Prior to Friday's arrest hand was arrested last weekend by Wellton police after they found dangerous drugs for sale and unknown chemicals inside the home he was living in.
Following his arrest he was transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center for proclaimed medical conditions and later released. Police say he was suppose to turn himself in but never did.
Wellton police say thanks to tips being called in from our viewers they were able to locate and arrest Hand. They say Yuma police assisted them in capturing Hand at a residence in the 2700 block of South Avenue 2 ½ E.
Wellton police says Hand attempted to flee from the residence but was quickly taken into custody.
