Storm brings rain, wind, and hail to Imperial Valley

IMPERIAL COUNTY, CA.- In what some El Centro residents called a three minute shower, a massive rainstorm hit Imperial County Monday evening.

Besides a large amount of rain, the storm brought with it strong winds and some residents even reported seeing and hearing hail.

The storm passed through El Centro in about a half hour but in those 30 minutes, it knocked over a few trees and flooded several areas in the city, though no severe flooding has been reported.

It did knock out some power in some areas of the county. Imperial Irrigation District personnel were sent out to troubleshoot.

No injuries were reported.
