Wellton drug dealing suspect formally charged

WELLTON, AZ - The man accused of selling drugs near Wellton Elementary School had his day in court this morning.

Gary Hand has been charged with possession of dangerous drugs for sale.

He was arrested last Friday after attempting to flee at a home in the 2700 block on South Avenue 2 1/2 E.

Wellton Police say they found drugs in his home.

Hand was briefly taken to a hospital and later released.

He was supposed to turn himself in and when he didn't, that's when police went after him and took him into custody.

He remains in jail on $100,000 bond and will be back in court August 21, 2012.
