YUMA, AZ - Female Yuma County employees may soon have access to free contraceptives.
It's part of the Affordable Care Act, which makes generic birth control available to insured county workers.
It requires a prescription, but has no deductibles, co-pays or other limitations.
The Yuma County Board of Supervisors is meeting Monday. The vote on the issue is reportedly part of the Consent Agenda. The matter is non-negotiable, according to County Administrator Robert Pickels.
The Affordable Care Act includes coverage for several preventative services, including helping people to stop smoking, certain nutritional supplements for children, and even some vaccines.
