U.S. Border Patrol El Centro sector seize meth valued $700,000

Imperial County--U.S. Border patrol agents assigned to the Indio station seized more than $700,000 worth of meth at the Highway 86 border patrol checkpoint near Indio.

The incident occurred during early this morning after a border patrol canine team alerted to a Ford F-150 truck.

Agents referred the driver to secondary inspection and five packages of meth inside the gas tank.

The DEA took custody of the 63-year-old male who was U.S. citizen, the vehicle and narcotics.
