YUMA, AZ - The man who slammed a stolen car into a Yuma Police car yesterday made his first appearance in court this morning.

Christian Michael Silva appeared in Yuma County Justice Court after being arrested yesterday afternoon.

He is facing numerous charges including aggravated assault on a police officer, endangerment, and criminal damage.

YPD says the 22-year-old rammed the SUV he was in into a marked K-9 unit while officers pulled him over on 13th Street and 8th Avenue.

He then fled and soon after crashed into a tree on the 1300 block of 8th Avenue.

Silva was later located walking with a woman.

They were both arrested, however only Silva was booked into jail where he remains on $25,000 bond.

He will be back in court later this week.
