Man arrested at Andrade Port of Entry with narcotics

WINTERHAVEN, CA.- A 59 year old man is arrested at the Andrade Port of Entry after more than a half million dollars worth of cocaine, heroin, and methamphetamine is found hidden in his vehicle.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers referred a silver 2000 Mitsubishi Montero Sport for further inspection Sunday morning.

During a search officers found 23 wrapped packages of the narcotics co-mingled inside a custom-built compartment in the rear floor area.

The combined weight of the drugs was 58 pounds with a street value of nearly $759,000.

CBP says the man who is a permanent resident in San Miguel, California is a Mexican citizen.

They seized both the vehicle and narcotics.
