YUMA, AZ - Doors close early at a local bank after a morning robbery.
The Yuma County Sheriff's office says around 11:30 a man walked into Wells Fargo Bank in the foothills, pointed a hand gun at the teller, demanded money, then took off in his vehicle.
The bank called 9-1-1 and a police chase soon followed. YCSO says the chase ended in Winterhaven off Arez road where 47 year old Jon Carstens of phoenix was arrested.
YCSO was assisted by Imperial County Sheriff's Office, the California Highway Patrol and the Yuma Police Department.
ICSO has taken over the investigation and Carstens is booked at the Imperial County jail. Police say his charges include possession of a controlled substance, possession of stolen property, and fleeing and evading a police officer. His bond is set at $500,000.
