Yuma, AZ- Finger and palm prints were found in various areas in Doctor Satinder Gill's home where he was murdered. Adrian Rodriguez a latent Print ID technician took the stand today and he testified that the murderer was most likely wearing gloves or cloth around his or her hands.
"Whenever we are processing for latent prints what we are focusing on is are there finger prints here is there a palm here. What kept coming up is significant signs of impressions with distinct features," says Rodriguez.
Rodriguez said he and his partner were on scene in November of 2007. He said 119 latent prints were recovered from the home. He said they also took swabs, dust prints and trace evidence.
He testified a couple areas in the home were of interest to him. The front door, the stove and kitchen area and the master bathroom. He said all of these areas contained prints with no ridges.
They even found these prints on a chair in the middle of the master bathroom.
Yuma Police detectives have testified that they believe Dr. Gill was held against his own will with his arms tied behind his back on this chair before he was killed.
Police reported Dr.Gill's head was submerged in the bathtub when they had arrived. It was reported that he died from asphyxiation and blunt force trauma.
The prosecution believes the impressions found at the scene are important because police reported similar impressions were found on a black Lexus SUV they say Strong was driving the day of the murder.
